I. In accordance with the Pingtung County Government's letter No. 1145088505, dated May 19, 114.

II. In accordance with Article 26 of the Act Governing Relations Between the People of the Taiwan Area and the Mainland Area, Paragraph 3 of Article 70 and Article 72 of the Act Governing Retirement, Resignation, and Severance Pay for Public School Teachers and Staff (hereinafter referred to as the "Retirement Act"), and Article 13 of the Regulations Governing the Verification and Disbursement of Periodic Retirement Benefits for Public School Teachers and Staff (hereinafter referred to as the "Verification Regulations"), retired teachers and staff who receive monthly retirement benefits (or concurrently hold such positions) and reside in mainland China for an extended period shall apply to the competent authority to change to lump-sum retirement benefits; those who fail to apply for a change to lump-sum retirement benefits as required, those who receive preferential interest on savings, and the beneficiaries who receive survivor pensions or monthly survivor benefits, if they have "household registration" in mainland China or hold a mainland China passport, shall have their monthly retirement benefits, preferential interest on savings, survivor pensions, and monthly survivor benefits suspended until their rights are restored after they are permitted to resume their status as residents of the Taiwan Area.
III. For consistency with civil servants, the term "household registration" as used in the preceding paragraph shall be interpreted in accordance with the aforementioned Mainland Affairs Council letter. Furthermore, to prevent retired personnel from falling under the circumstances where periodic benefits should be suspended as stipulated in the aforementioned regulations, all schools are requested to inform their colleagues and notify retired personnel to proactively report any such situations. In cases of overpayment of periodic benefits, recovery shall be handled in accordance with Article 70 of the Retirement Act and Article 16 of the Verification Regulations.
