National Tainan University is organizing the 112th academic year "Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Education Credit Program for National Elementary School Teachers with a Specialization in Hokkien for the Mother Tongue Language Component of the Language Arts Domain".

Target Audience (Eligibility): All of the following three conditions must be met.
(1) Graduates of public or accredited private independent colleges or universities, or foreign independent colleges or universities recognized by the Ministry of Education, with a bachelor's degree or higher.
(2) Possess an intermediate or higher level of proficiency certificate in Taiwanese Hokkien, including (1) an intermediate or higher level proficiency certificate in Taiwanese Hokkien issued by the central education authority, or (2) a valid certificate from a Taiwanese Hokkien certification exam equivalent to Level B1 or higher of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEF).
(3) Have at least 6 semesters of actual teaching experience in local languages (Taiwanese Hokkien) at elementary or secondary schools within the last 5 years, and be currently a local language (Taiwanese Hokkien) teaching support staff or substitute teacher. (Years of service are calculated from the start date of the program, extending back 5 years. In addition to years of service teaching Taiwanese Hokkien in elementary schools, years of service teaching Taiwanese Hokkien at the secondary education level may also be included.)
III. Course Offerings: This program is planned for 73 credits, including pre-service teacher education courses (10 credits for specialized courses, 37 credits for educational professional courses), 24 credits for specialized courses in the language domain for Taiwanese Hokkien expertise, and 1 credit each for 'Vocational Education and Training' and 'Career Planning,' all with passing grades.
IV. Fee Standards: The tuition fee per credit is NT$3,000. If the tuition fee is adjusted, the revised standard will apply.
V. Class Schedule: From August 2023 to February 2026, classes will be held primarily on weekday evenings and weekend days during the semester, and during the day in winter and summer breaks.
VI. Admission Method: Admission brochure details are provided in the attachment.
(1) Application Method: All applications must be submitted by mail. Please complete and mail the application using the format specified in Attachment 7 'Application Envelope Cover' via registered mail by Wednesday, June 21, 2023 (postmark date). Please refer to the brochure for required documents.
