To promote children's and youth's audiovisual education and broaden their diverse development, PTS has been organizing the "Taiwan International Children's Film Festival" since 2004, leading Asia. Through the "Little Directors, Big Dreams Workshop" children's audiovisual education program, we call upon elementary school teachers and students, as well as parent-child teams interested in audiovisual creation. By first soliciting proposals and then providing training and guidance, we encourage teachers, students, or families to form teams and participate in short film creation, igniting students' passion for learning in audiovisual creativity, and achieving the vision of "Nurturing Every Child—Cultivating Talents and Lifelong Learning." A total of 92 short films have been completed with the workshop's guidance over the years. These high-quality works have repeatedly received awards and recognition at major domestic and international children's film festivals, allowing Taiwanese children's creativity to shine on the international stage.
PTS's 2023 "Little Directors, Big Dreams Workshop" is about to begin. We will first hold "Short Film Creation Briefing Sessions" to explain the "Children's Short Film Project Proposal Selection" guidelines and related event details. The briefing sessions will be held on April 15th at the Dali Art Museum in Taichung, April 22nd at the Zhongxing Cultural and Creative Park in Yilan, April 29th at the Li Ke-Yong Library in Kaohsiung, May 6th at Public Television Service in Taipei, and May 13th online. We invite professional audiovisual professionals to teach proposal writing for filmmaking, and "Little Director" teams to share their filmmaking experiences. Elementary school students, teachers, and parents are welcome to participate. The briefing sessions are completely free of charge. Please register online through the official event website. Limited spots are available and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
The "Children's Short Film Project Proposal Selection" will close on May 31, 2023. We welcome elementary school teachers and students, as well as parent-child teams interested in audiovisual creation, to form teams and register online. Submit your filmmaking proposals to participate in the selection. Selected teams will receive a full set of filmmaking guidance resources, and completed short films will be selected for international exhibition.
